Main Street Studios had its first beginnings in 1980 in Corrimal. Founder Rob Specogna converted his garage into a recording studio. From humble beginnings the studio built up a strong client base and began making a name for itself within the Wollongong area.
In 2002 Adam Jordan was brought into the studio as an additional engineer. After building his experience and knowledge, eventually Adam became the Head Engineer and was responsible for recording the majority of the studios sessions.
Over time, additional rooms were added to the space, until in 2004, there was no more room for development. The studio then relocated to Fairy Meadow. With acoustics designed by Dr Jack Metcalfe and additional outboard gear (more tubes glowing), the studio sought to build upon the reputation created over the past 20 years.

Main Street is situated less than half an hour south of southern Sydney, with free parking directly in front of the studio. Loading in is a simple matter of walking in the front door straight into the recording room.

 Are you on The List?
Occasionally a band will cancel or postpone a session at the last minute; this creates some free time in the studio. The List is an email mailing list for bands to receive studio time at a drastically reduced price to fill in the empty spaces. Whenever dates become available we send out an email, and the first to confirm the booking gets the time.
